Mel Krater worked mostly in the tech sector as a corporate accountant, financial analyst, and accounting manager. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree, Major in Accounting. An advocate of FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) long before it became a moment. Mel retired at age 40 with the dream to travel the world.
In between trips, Mel volunteers for Meals on Wheels, and the Wellness Center for Older Adults. She served previously as a volunteer with Big Brother, Big Sister, and as treasurer, speechwriter, and editor for various cultural and charity organizations. She is a proud member and the current treasurer of PACC-NTX. Mel applauds their immeasurable services to the community.
Mel is married to Paul Krater, her husband of over 30 years who shares her passion for travel and helping the less fortunate. They lend to underserved micro-entrepreneurs in the Philippines and worldwide through www.kiva.org. Mel has been a DIY investor in stocks and real estate for decades and is happy to mentor anyone with a dream and drive. She is the current president of Golden Pinays Investment Club and plans to start another investment club soon.
