Myrna Obligacion-Carreon went to school from kinder to High School in St. Paul College in Manila, Philippines. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Major in English at College of the Holy Spirit in the Philippines. A retiree at American Airlines, Myrna worked as Contract Developer-Analyst and she is also the Founder-Moderator of the Asian Employee Resource Group. Myrna is a strong advocate of Diversity in the Workplace and held the position of National President of Diversity Advisory Council of American Airlines.
Myrna’s strength and strong points in Marketing and Sales, opened the expected group sales to fill in AA’s new Asian routes. Myrna was assigned during the Inaugural Maiden Flight of AA to Shanghai and Beijing. Followed by popular routes to Hongkong, Korea, and Japan. During 9/11, Myrna was delegated to the Care Team Unit of American Airlines deploying rapid assistance to the families of the victims of the fatal sky terrorist attacks. A well-known Community Leader in North Texas, Myrna, bridges the path of AA to support calamities and disasters both local and international enabling the company-match program which recognizes the employees’ initiatives and volunteerism.
She was the president of the North Texas Asian American Cultural Association (NTAACA) from 2002-2005; president of the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Texas (PACCT) from 2015-2018; and currently the president of the Filipino Leaders Coalition of North Texas (FILCON) since 2018.
